According to laws and regulations of Thailand, driving a motor vehicle in Thailand needs a valid driving license issued by Thai government. Foreign driver's license in Thailand is temporarily not recognized by the law. As a result, those who don’t hold a local driving license, please don’t rent or drive a vehicle, in case of negative influences from the emergence of accidents. Many foreign tourists in Thailand rent motorcycles. However, it is illegal to rent them without a driving license. Transforming a foreign driving license into a Thai driving license
Terms for applicants: already holding a driving license issued by another country and having it certified at the Thai Embassy in that country.

Take exams for a Thai driving license
Terms for applicants: Holding a Thai work permit or a one-year long-term visa (tourist visa is not accepted). Other documents are also required: proof of address, health check, and photos.
